Advancing Encouragement By:
Bishop James Jr. Hairston
James: 2:14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
What does it profit, gain or benefit and to what advantage do you have if you say that you have faith without putting your faith to work? Is there something in your life that you need to be saved from? What about protection, do you need to be protected from something? Perhaps you need to be delivered from something or delivered out of something! Can faith save you alone? Can faith protect you or deliver you alone? The word save here means to be protected, delivered and of course to be saved from something or to be saved out of something. In addition, save also mean depending on how you relate to this text personally, to heal or to preserve something. All of these meanings come from the word sozo and it makes perfect sense when you read the next following verses in this text. Now interject your life situation into this text or someone you know and you will find liberation for your situation. The implication is here for you to be liberated or vindicated and that is do not be afraid to put your faith into action to accomplish what it is that the Lord has for you to do. If you are to help someone in need, then step out on faith to help them or if you are trying to do great things for the Lord then it is time to step out on faith to achieve it. I learned how to work out my faith after I have prayed about something then I look for the opportunity for the Lord to show me the direction I should take and to trust God then I put my faith at work. In my prayer I am asking for His will to be done and if it is not His will then I ask not too open the door of opportunity. In addition, it profits me while I am asking I am also seeking for that door of opportunity and when I find it, I knock and if it is His will; it will be open unto me in Jesus name, Matthew 7:7, 8. Today, you can be saved, delivered, protected, healed or even vindicated by allowing your faith to be empowered by working out the things you are praying for. You can start by looking for that door of opportunity that you are asking about for it to be open to you. Do not sit and wait literally but start seeking or looking for the door of opportunity while you are waiting. I believe, declare and decree you will find what you are asking for; putting your faith at work according to the will of God, and the door will be open unto you in Jesus Name…
