Ephesians: 4:30: And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
To grieve the Holy Ghost is to cause the Spirit of God to be sad, distress; to cause grief, be in heaviness, be in sorrow or sorrowful from the word, lupeo or loo-peh'-o. When you are sealed by the Holy Ghost you will not live the lifestyle of the world that makes the Holy Ghost sad, grieved or to be in heaviness of heart because the Child of God causes the Spirit hurt or pain. It is important to know that God loves us so much He hurts when we sin against Him. How does He hurt? He hurt through His Spirit when we sin against Him because His Spirit inhabits us and He knows our every thought, pain, hurt, decisions that we make and actions even before we make them. His Spirit is connected to our whole inner man which is made up of our mind, hearts, soul and spirit and this is what makes up a person is his or her inner man. The inner man controls the entire person; his physical and mental make up. That is why the Holy Ghost or God’s Spirit hurt and is sadden when we live disobedient to Him. I want to encourage you today not to cause sadness to the Holy Spirit or to God, He loves you and He wants the best for your life! Being sealed with the Holy Ghost is our guarantee that we will inherit eternal life and be with Him for all eternity. That is why God spoke through Paul by saying we were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory, Ephesians 1:13b, 14. Earnest means, God has purchase for us given in advance as security for the rest. The Holy Ghost is our down payment to receive our inheritance for all eternity. In addition, this down payment cannot and will not be revoked, annulled, cancelled or retracted like any earthly down payment because of bad credit. The Blood of Jesus Christ is our credit, His death on the cross and it cannot be denied. The Holy Spirit is our guarantee and the blood of Jesus is our A-1 credit to spend eternity with God and nothing and no one can take that away from you, not even you because you are sealed by the Holy Spirit in Jesus Name…!
