Advancing Encouragements By:
Bishop James Jr. Hairston
In some translations this passage of scripture starts out saying Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, as in the NAS version. Consider simply means to think to be, this is who we are, dead to sin. Today, don't let sin rule over you and control you. If you are living in sin then the Lord is saying you are a walking corpse! Dead people cover up their pain by living in sin to make themselves feel good while gratifying the flesh. Alive people are free to live without carrying a lot of pain and hurts enjoying life with true happiness. Alive people are free from sin filled with a lot of faith, hope and love. Previously in the text the bible said that we were buried in Christ death, and then raised up with Him walking in the newness of life. It says that we were crucified with Him that the body might be destroyed but made alive with Him in the likeness of His resurrection, so that we will no longer live in sin or as a walking corpse, in verses 4, 5 and 6. Therefore, today is your day to feel alive again free from sin so that you can make a difference in your life and someone-else life. You are going to walk with your head up high filled with God's peace, God's love, God's Joy, God's Power, God's Holiness, God's Righteousness, God's boldness, God's confidence and God's Esteem walking above the world in His Dominion feeling alive in Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior, In Jesus Name Amen...
