Isaiah: 53:5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

BIRTH TO THE CROSS

Isaiah: 53:5: But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

In Isaiah 9:6 he prophesied about Christ Jesus coming into the world as a baby who was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18-21) and would have dominion over governments, He would be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, and The Prince of Peace. Isaiah now in this text is prophesying about the same child who is now fully grown that has been beaten to death, crucified, mocked and pierced in the side (Matthew 27:29-35, John 19:30-34) whose blood was shed so that we can have forgiveness of all of our wrong doings to give us peace and to heal us from all of our iniquities, sickness and disease. This is the season where people are susceptible to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ from the virgin birth and yes it is important to believe in the virgin birth because without that Jesus Christ would have been just a man, (Matthew 1:18-21). Moreover, it is just as important to know and understand why He came through the power of the Holy Ghost, (Matthew 1:20, Luke1:35) as it is how He came. Why, the world was without hope and was condemned for all eternity but Jesus Christ came to save us from condemnation and death (John 3:16) and not only that He came to heal us from sickness and disease according to His will, (James 5: 14-16). I believe that this prophesy has come to pass in your life and mine so that we can live abundantly while on earth. Let this season be free from condemnation, free from guilt, free from hopelessness and faithlessness and filled with peace, joy and happiness because of what Jesus Christ came to do for you and me. We do not have to worry about the commercialism that this world has to offer too the birth of Christ but to embrace the fact that He came, lived, bleed and died for you and I so we can live life without sickness and disease, guilt and shame but believing with faith, hope, peace, joy and love that we are healed and set free, so let us give that away as a gift this season in Jesus name.
