Advancing Encouragement By:
Bishop James Jr. Hairston
1John: 4:2: Hereby know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
Be encouraged to know the Spirit of the Living God! In many cultures where there is a god that they serve or worship that particular god derives from some form of spirit and is usually from the spirit of the Devil not of Jehovah Yahweh or Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! First of all you have to know that there is only one God and one Lord and Savior and in most cultures that have some form of god cannot save them from their sins or from God’s wrath which is eternal damnation. There is only one savior in the world and their god that they serve is lifeless but Jesus Christ came and shown us who God is in His very likeness, essence and nature while on earth and that cannot be disputed! In addition, to know is, too allow, be aware (of), to feel, to have knowledge, to perceived, be resolved, you can speak about Him with confidence, be sure, and understand is the meaning of know in this text. Therefore, you have been inundated with the Spirit of God and no one can refute your knowledge or experience of the Spirit of God in your life! From that point, you will not and cannot be mislead or confused about whom you are in Christ Jesus and who you belong too. In the background of this epistle John was writing about those who did not believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh not as human nature but as the Incarnation of God Himself! They believed Jesus was not one hundred percent God and one hundred percent human in verse, 3 which is the spirit of the antichrist. Therefore, be encouraged about whom you are and who you belong too that you serve a God who cared enough about you that He came down to earth in the form of man as the Son God so that we can know who He is and how much He love us by dying on the cross to save us from our sins and His wrath! If you believe that Jesus Christ came in the flesh as God and human then you belong to Him and you have His Spirit! Now it is up to you in how you live your life for Him and to try the spirits (verse 1) because John said in verse 4 of this text; you are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Today my friend, you are an overcomer, overcoming any spirit in the world in Jesus Name and can accomplish the great things God has in store for you because you are of God…
